Build your first animation
Custom effects are built one layer at a time, so you can start simple and add personality when you are ready.

Before you begin
Download our app on either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store:
This guide is based off of our Standard Underglow Kit . Some features may be missing or look different based on the connected device and kit level.
Video
Start by selecting your controller, at the bottom of the screen navigate to the Build FX screen.
Select the first layer or add a new layer.
Choose between the following animation types:
Solid
Set a solid static color layer. This can be a single layer or blended with animations to create a unique animated background.
Rainbow
The rainbow animation rotates the hue wheel by x amount of degrees per second - configured by you.
Blink
The blink animation blinks between off and the solid color you choose with a custom delay.
Fade
The fade animation fades between 1-5 colors with a chosen speed.
Chase
The chase animation is a configurable block of colors that move across the LED strip. This is one of the most configurable animations with speeds, colors, trails, fade outs, direction, bouncing and more.
Twinkle
The twinkle animation spawns random colored nodes around the strip. Fade and spawn rate is up to you.
Stack
Like the chase, the stack animation moves nodes across the strip with settings defined by you. But think of stacking blocks it slowly fills the strip and can unstack or disappear.
Firework
Our most requested animation. The firework animation is a rocket moving in either direction and bursting with any color(s) you want. Choose speeds, size and burst radius to customize to your liking.

Once you have selected an effect play with its settings. Each animation type has its own settings; tune to your liking with color and effects!
You can later up to 4 animation types at a time and choose how they blend with layers below it. Layers are also draggable to reorder them as you dial in a blend mode. See the blend modes below for more information.
