View our installation video here
You will need:
- Our PFX Underglow Controller
- <= 5 Butt Connectors
- General tools
- An iOS or Android capable device.
Getting Started
Identify and locate the existing LED controller you plan to replace and verify your setup uses 12v and 3 pin LEDs.
Verify your LED strip compatibility below before installing.
Please note that the data line on our PFX LED Controller is 5v. While the controller supports 5v and 12v LEDs we recommend only using 12v. The controller is a passthrough device and voltage supplied is voltage output. **17v max**; not compatible with 24v strips or systems.

Installing the Controller
Installing the controller is simple! Follow these steps:
- Remove your existing controller by disconnecting the wires from the screw terminals or unplugging the connectors. Your installation may differ depending on the controller being replaced.
- Identify the positive (+), ground (-, GND), and data (DO) wires in your existing setup.
On the 3-pin LED connector of the Prismal PFX LED Controller, red is positive (+), black is ground (-, GND), and yellow is data (DO).
NOTE: Connectors may look similar but have different pinouts. Always verify that the pinout of your existing connector matches the PFX before connecting it. While the PFX includes connectors for both the power and LED connections, your existing system may use a different pinout.
- Using your verified connector or butt connectors, connect the positive, ground, and data wires. Verify that all connections and/or crimps are secure.
On the power side of the Prismal PFX LED Controller (2-pin connector), red is positive (+) and black is ground (-, GND).
Connect these wires to a proper 12V power source, or plug the connector in with the correct orientation. Verify that all connections and/or crimps are secure.
